We are an independent nursing home registered with the Care Quality Commission recognised by Health Insurance Companies, local NHS Trust and Private Hospitals

We are registered as an Investor in People

We pride ourselves on our friendly "home from home" approach whilst caring for our residents and their relatives.

As we are an independent home, we can offer more personalised surroundings and can cater for the resident's individual needs.

The director is based at the home on a daily basis to ensure the needs of our residents are met. The other directors are also involved to ensure the high standards of the home are maintained.

Investor in People

The company employs a Training Co-Ordinator to ensure that all members of staff receive the correct training to enable them to support the needs of our residents.

As an "Investor in People", the company firmly believes that all staff should be encouraged to develop their skills, gain further knowledge and experience to enable them to be better informed and equipped for their role within the home.

Each member of staff will, during the course of a year, receive regular supervision sessions and a Personal Development Review.

Staffing Profiles

Highcliffe House Limited employs a large team of staff to care for residents. The home has a "staff board" so residents and their families and friends can see which members of staff are currently caring for the residents.

Alison Quilter-Cudworth, Registered Manager, is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of the home.

Our team of Registered Nurses (Level 1) have a wealth of experience (Some 175 years between them!) caring for elderly, frail residents, palliative care, general nursing, mental health and learning disabilities. Alison works closely with the team - planning the staffing and training of staff, in order to maintain high standards which the residents receive.

Within the nursing department, there are three shifts throughout the day, each shift being led by a Registered Nurse. They are responsible for the assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care of each resident during their shift. They are assisted by a team of Health Care Assistants throughout each shift, who deliver personal care to our residents.

During each shift, a senior member of the care team will be responsible for informing the registered nurse of any concerns that may arise for the well being of any resident.

The Kitchen Manager, ensures that each resident receives nutritious meals every day. Various diets are catered for. All the meals are prepared from locally sourced fresh produce where possible, with the seasons being taken into account. A team of Front of House assistants serve the residents meals in the dining area or in an area of their choice.

The Housekeeping department is led by our Housekeeper who is responsible for the cleanliness of the home and laundry services. A team of Domesticated Assistants help.

The home has a full time Maintenance person who helps with the general upkeep of the home. Rooms can be personalised by our residents and their families with pictures, photos and a small item of furniture.

William Garside is the responsible individual registered with the Care Quality Commission to ensure the home's standards are met.

Finally, the Administration of the home is under the direction of Alison and her Assistant.
